Kayla Altland and Park Pride

Kayla Altland and Park Pride
“For over 30 years, Park Pride has engaged communities to activate the power of parks. Parks have the power to increase quality of life. They promote community engagement, health, safety, and revitalization. They make citizens happy, communities strong, and cities sustainable. Park Pride’s programs, leadership, and funding helps communities unlock these benefits in parks across Atlanta.
The formation of Friends of the Park group is the first step in creating positive changes in a neighborhood park.”
We had the honor of speaking to Kayla Altland, Park Pride’s program director, who is in charge of their Grand Making Program.
- Park Pride believes great parks have the power to improve our quality of life and strengthen the fabric of our cities. When parks meet the needs and reflect the unique character of the communities they serve, they are welcoming places for all members of the community to gather, play, relax, and connect with nature, encouraging mental and physical health and enhancing the resilience of our neighborhoods. This is the power of parks.
- With help from various jurisdictions, Park Pride works to maintain established parks as well as provide resources and support for up-and-coming parks in the Atlanta area. These resources, of course, are available to all.
- You can help on Greener Good Volunteer Days – check out the website for opportunities!
Thanks, Kayla Altland, for your service to our community!
